It went by many names such as quinkin, but even more interestingly, they spoke of two types. One was the established hulking apeman, whilst the second was a much smaller hairy man, that was considered a mischevious creature, but still incredibly powerful for its size, and different from what might be considered a 'young' yowie. For the record whilst I absolutely believe that people see yowies, I lean towards them being more connected to the fae, than to flesh and blood animals.
